The WellTech MAX™ is a Class 1 Division 1 (C1-D1) rig floor tubing inspection system designed for safe, real-time inspection in hazardous environments. Built on the proven WellTech platform, the MAX configuration integrates a purge and pressurization system engineered by New Tech Systems to support operation where safety requirements are critical.
Utilizing advanced non-contact transverse and wall monitoring sensor technology, pair with the Split-Check pneumatic split and hole detector the WellTech MAX™ provides consistent and reliable assessment of tubing condition as it is pulled from the well. The system is engineered to support critical field operation while maintaining inspection accuracy in demanding environments.
The WellTech MAX™ incorporates an integrated purge and pressurization system engineered and manufactured by New Tech Systems to support operation in hazardous environments. This integrated approach allows the system to operate in environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present, while maintaining stable internal operating conditions.
The WellTech MAX™ includes the SPLIT-CHECK™ pneumatic split and hole detector, designed to identify holes and longitudinal splits across the tubing body, including areas near couplings. The system is designed to provide consistent inspection coverage along the length of the pipe, supporting confident evaluation of tubing condition in real time. The WellTech MAX is also our most compact model to date, allowing for efficient handling and deployment on the rig floor.

The WellTech MAX™ features an updated non-contact transverse and wall monitoring sensor system paired with a pneumatic split and hole detector. These design elements reduce routine maintenance requirements and support extended service life of internal components over other models.
The non-contact architecture minimizes mechanical wear, helping maintain consistent inspection performance over time and reducing the need for frequent service intervals in field operations.
Advanced Detection for Service-Induced Flaws
The WellTech MAX™ is equipped with a solid-state Hall effect detection system designed to identify common service-induced flaws in used tubing, including pitting, cracks, rod wear, and wall thinning.
The system operates within a DC magnetizing coil that encircles the tubing, enabling continuous inspection as the tubing is extracted from the well. This configuration supports real-time detection and immediate visibility of tubing condition during operations.
Hazardous Location Configuration
The WellTech MAX™ is certified Class 1 Division 1 (C1-D1) for operation in hazardous environments. The system incorporates an integrated purge and pressurization system designed and manufactured by New Tech Systems.

The system is calibrated prior to installation on the well servicing rig floor. For the WellTech MAX™ configuration, purge and pressurization conditions are verified to ensure safe operation in classified environments before the system is placed into service. The rig then lowers the inspection head/canister onto the pipe held in the slips.
Once in position, system connections are secured and the purge and pressurization process is completed to establish safe operating conditions within the system. Purge integrity is confirmed prior to initiating inspection. The pipe is then pulled through the inspection head, typically one or two tubes at a time. The inspector monitors the inspection data in real time and determines pipe condition based on the displayed signals.
The rig crew breaks the tubing at the coupling and sets inspected joints aside. This process is repeated throughout the operation. During operation, purge and pressurization conditions are maintained to support continuous safe system performance.
The WellTech MAX™ system is typically operated by two personnel: the inspector and the rig helper. The inspector communicates pipe condition, and the rig crew proceeds based on the inspection results. Classification markings are applied to the pipe in accordance with the inspection criteria.
